Bush omits Immigration Invasion in State of the Union "speech"

Jan - 06 - With a focus on the country's reliance on oil and the continuing war in Iraq, President Bush's State of the Union address on Tuesday had some wondering why issues of immigration and border security received scant attention.

In his annual address, Bush allocated four sentences to immigration, calling for secure borders, but he offered no details on what kind of support will be provided for immigration enforcement and border protection.

Rep. Joe Baca, D-San Bernardino, said he was surprised that the president had "glided right through" the immigration issues.

Nancy Pelosi’s Interest in Promoting Mexican Labor

PHILADELPHIA -- January 26, 2003 -- While receiving wide media coverage and criticism because she pressed for U.S. acceptance of the Mexican government’s “Matriculas Consulares” identification cards [issued to illegal immigrants] to permit illegals to enter the San Francisco Federal Building which houses her district office, a number of legal, ethical, and constitutional questions remain unanswered regarding House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s curious actions and investments. This, as her multi-million dollar wine industry investments are linked directly to the First Family, while her grape vineyards also stand to benefit from the cheap labor afforded by illegals from Mexico.

According to Pelosi’s 2001 Annual U.S. House Financial Disclosure form [the most recent], filed on May 15, 2002, the Minority Leader owns two vineyards. [Zinfandel Lane Vineyard in St. Helena, CA worth between $5,000,001 and $25 million with annual income between $100,001 and $1 million / and Skellenger Lane Vineyard in Napa, CA worth between $1,000,001 and $5 million with annual income between $100,001 and $1 million] Pelosi's financial statement also reported that her husband currently owns $15-$50,000 stock in the Chalone Wine Group, Ltd., and recently sold his $15-$50,000 stock position in California’s Ravenswood Winery.

Friends in Higher Places

And in case anyone is wondering if there are Bush Administration links to Nancy Pelosi, the wine industry, and its California vineyard machinations -- there are some really curious ones. Moreover, the ties travel right to the White House, since George W. Bush’s 42 year old sister Dorothy “Doro” Bush-Koch is married to Washington, DC wine industry lobbyist Bobby Petri Koch -- George W.’s brother-in-law -- a match made in wine heaven. (Pictured on far left is Nancy Pelosi)

In July, 2003, Bobby Koch is set to become president and CEO of the Wine Institute, a trade organization of about 550 California wineries and affiliated businesses, according to WineSpectatorOnline (6-28-2002).

Cover-ups of Mexican military border crossings anger agents
By Sara A. Carter, Staff Writer

Feb 2 - DB - Border patrol agents and other law enforcement officials are angry that Mexican and some U.S. officials refuse to acknowledge that Mexican soldiers are crossing into the United States.

...a Border Patrol agent who spoke on condition of anonymity said continuous cover-ups by Mexican and U.S. officials have put many agents and American lives in danger.

"I think it shows how desperate the situation has become. I think it's insulting to expect Americans to believe what (Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael) Chertoff and the Mexican government are saying," the agent said Wednesday.

"Isn't it the most reasonable explanation that if men are dressed as soldiers, with military vehicles and mounted machine guns that these guys are soldiers - not some cartel trying to ruin diplomatic relations?"

Photos of what appeared to be Mexican troops in the United States during Monday's incident shocked many Americans, although Mexico officials denied the military was involved.

Report: MS-13 gang hired to murder American Border Patrol
By Sara A. Carter and Mason Stockstill, Staff Writers

Feb 2/06 - DB - Mexican alien smugglers plan to pay violent gang members and smuggle them into the United States to murder Border Patrol agents, according to a confidential Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by the Daily Bulletin.

The Officer Safety Alert, dated Dec. 21, warns agents that the smugglers intend to bring members of the international Mara Salvatrucha street gang also known as MS-13 into the country for the deadly mission.

"Unidentified Mexican alien smugglers are angry about the increased security along the U.S./Mexico border and have agreed that the best way to deal with U.S. Border Patrol agents is to hire a group of contract killers," the alert states.

MS-13, which has a strong base in El Salvador, is considered by the FBI to be one of the most dangerous gangs in the United States, with more than 20,000 members.

Gang members have been found in 33 states and connected to murder, racketeering, assault, rapes and extortion. Last January, Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided six cities and made more than 100 arrests of MS-13 gang members.

Intelligence officials last year reported that MS-13 gang members had been linked to terrorists seeking entry into the country.

Michael Friel, a representative with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said he could not comment directly on the memo, but noted "this wouldn't be the first time agents' lives have been threatened.

"It's no surprise that these smugglers, these criminals, would be threatening our agents," he added. "And that would be a huge mistake on their part if they try."

Group releases Mexican Army incursion video
Minuteman Corps says they viewed Mexican soldiers across border
By Kenneth Todd Ruiz, Staff Writer

Feb 2/06 - DB - A civilian border patrol group released a video Friday they say shows Mexican soldiers crossing into U.S. territory.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps said the 2004 video is an example of the incursions made by the Mexican military during the past 10 years, first reported in the Daily Bulletin on Jan. 15.

"(Minuteman co-founder) Chris Simcox and others were in that area watching for people illegally crossing when they stumbled upon these Mexican soldiers on our side of the border," said Connie Hair, a spokeswoman for the group.

In the video, at least three men in military-style uniforms run from the border fence with automatic weapons toward a Humvee on the Mexican side of the border.

Hair said the incident happened at the border near the San Pedro River in Arizona.

The video appears to show the same event as captured by at least two cameras.

Simcox was at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday for the screening of a documentary about the border and was unavailable for comment.

According to Hair, Simcox encountered the uniformed men about 500 yards inside the U.S. border but was unable to capture footage until they had crossed back across a fence on the U.S. side of the border.

Since 1996, Mexican soldiers have crossed into the United States 216 times, according to a Department of Homeland Security, Customs and U.S. Border Protection document given to the Daily Bulletin.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Wednesday, however, played down reports of the incursions, saying most were a result of lost military personnel or drug runners dressed in military uniforms.

Border agents and law enforcement personnel interviewed during the past year for the Daily Bulletin's Beyond Borders project have described encounters with Mexican military.

"They're operating out of Mexico, and Mexico is not doing anything about it," said T.J. Bonner, union president of the National Border Patrol Council.

With border security a contentious issue on both sides, the U.S. government is motivated by political sensitivity to play down the reports, said Jack Pitney, professor of government at Claremont McKenna College.

"Obviously, they don't want to highlight border conflicts," Pitney said. "It's a tense situation, and high-profile conflicts would make the issue even more difficult."

Police face Mexican military, smugglers

Armed standoff along U.S. border
By Sara A. Carter and Kenneth Todd Ruiz, Staff Writers

Mexican soldiers and civilian smugglers had an armed standoff with nearly 30 U.S. law enforcement officials on the Rio Grande in Texas Monday afternoon, according to Texas police and the FBI.

Mexican military Humvees were towing what appeared to be thousands of pounds of marijuana across the border into the United States, said Chief Deputy Mike Doyal, of the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department.

Mexican Army troops had several mounted machine guns on the ground more than 200 yards inside the U.S. border -- near Neely's Crossing, about 50 miles east of El Paso -- when Border Patrol agents called for backup. Hudspeth County deputies and Texas Highway patrol officers arrived shortly afterward, Doyal said.

"It's been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it's been going on for years," Doyal said. "When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us."

An FBI spokeswoman confirmed the incident happened at 2:15 p.m. Pacific Time.

Mexican troops aiding Drug smugglers, says report

Border drug war backfiring
By Mason Stockstill, Staff Writer

Feb 2/06 - BD - A report outlining hundreds of incursions into the United States by Mexican armed forces over the past 10 years supports what many officials have known for a long time: The corruption once thought endemic only to Mexico's police forces has spread to its military.

The Daily Bulletin reported Sunday on a Department of Homeland Security document that outlines 216 incidents since 1996 where Mexican military personnel crossed the U.S.-Mexican border and were spotted or confronted by the Border Patrol.

Additionally, a map bearing the seal of the president's Office of National Drug Control Policy, dated 2001, shows the locations of 34 of those incursions spread across the southwest United States.

The documents are a striking reminder that steps intended to bolster official action in the drug war can backfire in unexpected ways.

During the past decade, Mexico's military has become involved with anti-drug efforts to a greater degree than ever before, a trend furthered by President Vicente Fox in 2001, when he disbanded the nation's federal judicial police, saying it was too corrupt to successfully fight drug trafficking.

However, while the Mexican armed forces once had a better reputation for avoiding corruption than the nation's police departments, the huge amount of available bribes means many soldiers and high-ranking army officials are now on the payroll of the cartels, according to a report from the Washington Office on Latin America, a nonprofit policy and research organization.

Dozens of officers, including several generals, have been tried for crimes related to drug trafficking in the past 10 years. In 1997, Gen. Jesus Gutierrez Rebollo was accused of using military resources to target one drug cartel at the behest of another. He was later sentenced to 71 years in prison.

Ironically, involving the military in Mexico's drug war has done little to slow the production of illicit drugs or their movement into the United States. The Drug Enforcement Administration's seizures of heroin, cocaine and marijuana have remained relatively steady during the past five years.

"Available data indicate that Mexico's supply of marijuana and heroin to the United States has not changed substantially; transport of cocaine through Mexico to U.S. cities also appears to have remained relatively stable," the nonprofit's report found. "Furthermore, Mexican cartels are responsible for a growing trade in methamphetamines."

Deserters from Mexico's military are known to work for drug cartels, including a paramilitary unit called Los Zetas -- a U.S.-trained anti-narcotics force connected to violence as far north of the border as Dallas.

Officials at the Department of Homeland Security did not return calls for comment Monday.

The Open-Borders Conspiracy - Getting Stronger

Who Funds the Dismantling of America ?

By Robert Locke
July 15, 2002

FrontPageMagazine - If I could choose to have my readers learn one and only one thing from what I write, it would be that America's problems are not the result of blind, much less inevitable, forces, but are the consequences of deliberate political action by motivated individuals and groups. Nowhere is this clearer than in the case of our ongoing immigration crisis. Let's trace the lines of influence in the open-borders conspiracy, a word I use despite its connotations of grassy knollology because in this case it is factually appropriate. Given who has been pushing mass immigration in America and how open they have been about why they are doing it, it boggles my mind that anyone who considers himself conservative can still support this policy.

Starting with the hardest Left, there is the radically pro-immigration position of the
Communist Party of the United States. Don't discount their significance because of their tiny membership and marginalized position in mainstream political discourse; their positions are indicative of the consensus of the most radical and determined core of the Left. This is true because much of the Left's fundamental thinking is done by avowed communists and their splinter groups, and because these groups have all sorts of ties through shared personnel with mainstream organizations. This radical core authenticates its positions as the extreme leftist view, at which point it is picked up on by more moderate leftists and endorsed in kind but with a difference of degree. The CPUSA supports immigration because it believes that this will enable it to solve the fundamental problem it faces in America: a materially contented working class. As put in William Hawkins's excellent 1994 book on the open-borders conspiracy

Again moving a little to the center, next comes the
Ford Foundation, an organization that has contributed to the problem of immigration in a number of ways. Following is an incomplete list of organizations the Ford Foundation has funded that promote immigration. My point in subjecting the reader to this mind-numbing list is to make the point of just how busy Ford has been in pushing this agenda, and how innocuous-sounding are so many of the organizations they use to do it. Ford often uses organizations that have some legitimate aspects to them to provide cover, giving funds to finance a specific pro-immigration program within the organization. To wit:

Arizona Farmworkers Union, African-American Institute, American Bar Association Fund for Justice and Education, American Civil Liberties Foundation, American Council for Nationalities Service, American Friends Service Committee, American Immigration Law Foundation, American Public Welfare Association, Asian-Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California, Bilateral Commission on U.S.-Mexican Relations, California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation, Casa de Proyecto Libertad, Center for Economic and Social Studies of the Third World, Center for Migration Studies of New York, Center for Southeast Asian Refugee Resettlement, Center for Teaching and Research in Economics, Central America Resource Center, Centro Presente, Chinatown Resources Development Center, Christian Community Service Agency, Clinica Monsignor Oscar A. Romero, Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and Services, Farmworker Justice Fund, Haitian Centers Council, Haitian Refugee Center, Haitian Task Force, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Indochina Resource Action Center, Institute for Regional Education, International Refugee Center of Oregon, Inter-University Program on Latino Research, Intertect Institute, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Lawyers Committee for International Human Rights, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Lutheran Council in the USA, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Migrant Legal Action Program, Multicultural Education Training and Advocacy Center, National Association for the Southern Poor, National Bureau of Economic Research, National Chicano Council on Higher Education, National Coalition of Advocates for Students, National Coalition of Haitian Refugees, National Council of La Raza, National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, National Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Forum, New York Association on New Americans, Policy Sciences Center, Population Council, Population Reference Center, Potomac Institute, Refugee Policy Group, Salvadoran Humanitarian Aid, Research and Education Foundation, Social Science Research Council, Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition,...

The point is that all these organizations are not just pro-mass immigration by nature; they are specifically paid - bribed - to be so by massive handouts of
Ford Foundation money. Other left-wing foundations - and most foundations are left-wing - have behaved similarly.

When bribing existing organizations hasn't been enough, the baleful
Ford Foundation has established entire groups from scratch to promote its mass immigration agenda.
