Introduction to the Chinese Bible & Chinese Versions

We want to first of all thank those of you who have written to us to find out more about the Bibles and the versions of the Old and New Testaments in Chinese.

We also want to thank those who have stepped forward to help others by helping us in portions of the translation work. There have not been many supporters (yet), but the few who have helped...have made a real difference. We do not take this for granted, and we hope & pray that the Lord will continue to bless you for your faithfulness to Him.

These pages only serve as an introduction to the issues. We don't have all the answers, but we do hope that our efforts (with your prayer & support) will make a permanent and eternal difference in the lives of others.

The Short answers about the Chinese Versions seems to be as follows:

1. The predominant Chinese language Bible today is called the Chinese Union Version. It is a corrupt version of the Bible and is based on the false & corrupted text of Westcott & Hort.

2. While others have proposed other methods and solutions, there is no Chinese Language edition of the Bible that is Textus Receptus based - other than the one we currently offer for sale.

3. While many others have talked with us about Chinese Language versions, no one seems to actually be DOING anything about it, other than what we are doing right here (with your help and the guidance of the Lord)

We have posted a few pages here to help people find some of the answers to Bibles in Chinese. We welcome your comments and encourage you to write to us, either to ask questions or to share your comments.

We would welcome all the prayers & support that we can get about this issue. We are committed to helping to ensure that those who are Chinese speaking are provided with the true Bibles that are historically based in the true Greek Text, and not Pale imitations that have lost their strength and have NO lasting spiritual impact.

(May 29/04) A well-known Chinese house-church leader has been released after protests from Western organizations.

Zhao Wenquan was let go Tuesday, suffering only "minor beatings," after his arrest May 9 in Hegou Town in Anhui province, reports the U.S. based Christian group Voice of the Martyrs, or VOM.

Why Isn't More of Our site available in Chinese ?

We have had regular discussions with Bible translators  and others who can translate Chinese, but most of the time, those discussions involve technical issues involved with translation, rather than either an offer OR a willingness to help translate some of the pages and articles at our website into Chinese. 

We have also had some offers of assistance to "help us", provided that we filled out 80 forms in triplicate in order to receive funds. Since we are not willing to compromise our ministry, that was out of the question. The Bottom line is who can get the job done, and we are doing more in the short life of this ministry than are many organizations that have been established for decades. 

 We have not had any volunteers (and especially none in the West !!!) who would take their time to help translate the pages into Chinese. So please pray for us and our site in this regard. Please also pray for the Chinese People. They are the ones affected by this. 

Some people are willing to help with Chinese Bibles. Yet there are more than One Hundred Million people Right Now, from the Mainland People's Republic of China, that have active Access to the Internet. Most of them know almost Nothing about Jesus, the Bible or Christianity.  We would like to share the good news, but we do need your help to do this. 

What would you translate into Chinese if you could ?

Many many pages. But an offer of volunteer translation could be for as little as helping translate one article. Keep in mind that our website is only about 10% of its actual size because we don't have the funds to do more. 

But there are many articles that we would like to have translated into Chinese on the Deity of Jesus Christ, how to grow in your christian faith, where does Asia fit into the end-times, how does the Bible teach love, how should we study our Bible, what should we as christians pray for,  why the Prosperity gospel is contrary to true Christianity, etc. We could keep a group of volunteers active for quite some time. But the impact that any one of these would have would be enormous. 

It would take thousands of dollars to get physical Bibles over to China (which we work on and actively support, btw) - but it takes less than a week for us to have an article up and running so that Millions of Chinese speakers can find it, and the cost is far less than it would take to reach the Chinese people face-to-face. While it would be nice to have all the funds necessary, we have the desire to make the effort where we know it will count most. That DOES mean working on Chinese Bibles and Chinese Translations, but it also means helping to reach people through the internet.

The Best way to help us is by praying for our ministry: Have the courage to stand with us in Prayer: Lord thank you that I am able to learn more about you. Thank you for saving me and continue to help me to not take that for granted. I pray that you would help the team of people who established and are working on this website, and who are trying to help others to understand your love and kindness. I pray that you would give them great spiritual discernment, to know how to have the wisdom to communicate the gospel in truth and love without sacrificing accuracy in the process. I pray that you would continue to help them communicate the truth that only by going through Jesus Christ alone and no one else - can anyone be truly reconciled to God....I pray that even if I do not have much time, that you would send to them spiritually strong and aware Christians who will pray for their ministry regularly and often, and that their impact would be glorifying to you... I pray that you would protect them spiritually and continue to meet their needs and concerns, so that they would be able to continue to help others. Give them the knowledge, the information, the resources and the wisdom and discernment which they need.  Please bless their work and encourage them spiritually and help them to continue to be strong and to Want to follow you. I thank you for your goodness and ask all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  Thank you for praying for us. We greatly appreciate it. We will be posting this in quite a few places on our website, since not everyone visits the same pages or topics. The more people pray for us, the more that we can do to help others.
