Poll: 78 Percent In U.S. 'Convinced' That God Exists
NASHVILLE , Tennessee , December 13, 2005 - (BP)--Ninety-four percent of Americans say they believe in God and the overwhelming majority of them are "convinced" that He exists, according to a new Gallup poll.
The poll, which measures the certainty of Americans' beliefs, shows that 78 percent of U.S. adults are "convinced that God exists." Another 12 percent think God probably exists, but they have a "little doubt" about it and 4 percent say they think God probably exists but they have "a lot of doubt."
Only 5 percent of Americans say they don't believe in God. Four percent say they think God probably doesn't exist, but they "are not sure" that He doesn't, and only 1 percent of Americans are "convinced that God does not exist."
The poll of 1,002 adults was conducted Nov. 17-20 and released Dec. 13.
"In the chicken-and-egg question about whether church attendance is more likely to drive religiosity or vice-versa," Gallup 's Albert L. Winseman wrote in an online analysis, "these data suggest that, for many Americans, belief in God is a personal conviction, and attending worship is an expression, rather than the cause, of that belief."
Women (82 percent) are more likely than men (73 percent) to say they are convinced God exists. In addition, Southerners (88 percent) are more likely than Midwesterners (77 percent), Westerners (71 percent) and Easterners to say they are convinced about God's existence.
Eighty-seven percent of self-identified conservatives are convinced God exists, although that number drops to 76 percent for moderates and 61 percent for liberals.
Among weekly church attendees, 94 percent are convinced of God's existence. Amazingly, 61 percent of those who "seldom or never attend church" say they are certain God exists.
Gender gap alive and well online
Women use the net to keep up human ties, finds research
BBC - Dec 29/05 - Gender divisions persist online but it is no longer about whether more men or women use the net, research shows.
A study by the Pew Internet Project found that roughly the same percentage of men and women in the US are serious internet users.
But the research found that men value the net for the freedom it gives them to try new ways of doing things.
By contrast women like the opportunities the net gives them to make and maintain human connections.
Separate lives
The wide-ranging report from Pew dissected how men and women used the net and uncovered some striking differences.
One finding suggests that the number of women online already outnumbers that of men.
Figures gathered by Pew suggest that 68% of men are net users, compared to 66% of women. However, the total number of net-using women is higher
because there are more women than men in the general US population.
In some sections of the population online, this divide is more pronounced. For instance 60% of black women are net users compared to 50% of black men.
This moment in internet history will be gone in a blink
Pew Internet Project
The study found that both men and women prize the net for the help it gives them to be more efficient and get many mundane tasks, such as paying bills, over with quickly.
But it is in the ways that men and women use the net that the bigger differences show up, shows the report which was based on interviews with more than 6,000 people.
Men tend to be first to try out new net technologies and 68% of the men questioned are the administrator of a household's computer compared to 45% of women.
The Pew report also found that men are more likely to use the net to get at all kinds of information about sports results, weather, news, job offers and consumer ratings for goods and services.

BUSH WORKS WITH OLIGARCHS TO SUPPORT LIBERAL
COURT NOMINEE
Bush pick supported International Criminal Court, homosexual
adoptions, women in Active combat, tax hike
By Joseph Farah
WASHINGTON – WND - Oct 3/05 -Harriet Miers, President Bush's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court to replace Sandra Day O'Connor, is on record as supporting the establishment of the International Criminal Court, homosexual adoptions, a major local tax increase and women in combat, WorldNetDaily has learned
According to Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, Miers has taken positions as White House counsel that violate the law banning women in combat.
"As White House counsel, Ms. Miers either approved of the Department of Defense's illegal assignments of women in units required to be all-male, which is still continuing in violation of the law requiring notice to Congress in advance, or she was oblivious to the legal consequences of those assignments," she said.
Donnelly believes the actions of Miers could lead directly to a future court ruling
requiring women to register with the Selective Service
for the draft because they are now being, against the wishes of Congress, assigned to land combat.
2,400 lawmakers warn of Kinsey influence
Scholarly work shows sexual revolutionary's far-reaching damage
WND - Jun/04 - Relevance: High - A group of 2,400 conservative lawmakers nationwide are warning of the dangers sexual revolutionary Alfred Kinsey's work has brought to women and children.
In a scholarly monograph titled, "Restoring Legal Protections for Women And Children: A Historical Analysis of The States Criminal Codes," the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC, presents evidence of "illegal and criminal acts masquerading as science."
The group's Education Subcommittee on Junk Science in the Classroom said it commissioned the research "because of widespread use of 'junk' science misdirecting legislatures, courts and education."
The ALEC paper says since World War II, Kinsey's fraudulent data informed and directed the American Law Institute's "Model Penal Code" in eliminating and weakening 52 sex laws that once protected marriage.
Women pay painful price for equal military training
By Michael Evans, Defence Editor
UK - Mar 22/05 - YOUNG female recruits to the Armed Forces are not tough enough to be treated on a par with their male colleagues, a report claimed yesterday.
Too many young women were being injured in training, the independent Adult Learning Inspectorate said, and called for a rethink of the “gender-free” policy. The previous “gender-fair” policy, which took account of the “weaker sex”, was reckoned to be contrary to equal opportunities legislation.
In a report that criticised much of the culture behind Armed Forces’ training, the inspectorate, which carried out checks on all the training establishments, said that the military’s interpretation was to treat everyone the same. In the case of female recruits, the gender-free approach had led to record levels of injuries.
It recommended reverting to gender-fair training. The injuries had also coincided with the fact that recruits often joined the Armed Forces “unfit, overweight or poorly nourished”.
In women, fractures of the tibia (shin bone) had risen over a five-year period from 12.6 per 10,000 personnel to 231.2. Stress fractures
of the feet also increased significantly among female recruits.
During the gender-fair period of training, which ended in 1998, female trainees suffered 467 injuries per 10,000, compared with 118 among their male colleagues. After gender-free training was introduced, men’s injuries rose to 147, but women’s injuries went up to 1,113 per 10,000.
After the publication of the inspectorate’s report, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Defence to examine training across the Services, Lieutenant-General Anthony Palmer, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (personnel), said that the issue of gender-free training was being reviewed.
The report said that the problem of injuries in the Services had been “exacerbated by change from a gender-fair policy, in which women were set training goals appropriate to their physique, to a gender-free approach, prompted erroneously by a conviction that equality of opportunity demands it”.

RESULTS OF ABORTION = No Women :
China's unwanted girls
BBC - Aug 01- On the garbage dumps that surround Beijing, scavengers from time to time will find a newborn baby girl amid the stinking refuge.
Sometimes she is still alive.
Chen Rong makes her living from scavenging garbage, and over the years she has found five little girls on the tips.
She brought them all home to her one-room brick shack and she and her husband try to give them a chance.
In China, couples are permitted one, at most two, children. Too frequently a girl is a disappointment.
Thrown away
Every year, say researchers, perhaps a million girl foetuses are aborted and tens of thousands of girl babies are abandoned.
One baby died before we even got her home," says Mrs Chen. "Another garbage scavenger had taken her clothes and then left her to die.
"I was the only one who would pick her up. I couldn't bear to see her die.
"Parents shouldn't throw away their children. This shouldn't be happening."
Community pressure
But Chinese society is throwing away its little girls at an astounding rate. For every 100 girls registered at birth, there are now 118 little boys - in other words, nearly one seventh of Chinese girl babies are going missing.
"Some of those girls are alive, they are just not registered," says Professor Zhai Zhenwu, of Beijing's People's University. "Some are abandoned, but many are aborted when the parents find out the foetus is a girl.
Girl Scouts National Conclave to Feature
Pro-Abortion, Pro-Lesbian Speakers
By Robert Knight
8/29/2005 - CWA - 50th annual convention in Atlanta will showcase group’s drift into radical feminism.
Dr. Johnnetta Cole, a woman whose radical views forced the Clinton administration to withdraw her name from consideration for Education Secretary, will be one of three keynote speakers at the Girl Scouts USA national convention in Atlanta from October 7-10.
Another speaker is Kavita Ramdas, president and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, which, among other things, promotes abortion and feminism. The third speaker is Ann Curry, news anchor for NBC’s Today Show.
The choice of the first two speakers indicates that the Girl Scouts show no sign of slowing their plunge into hard-core feminism and political advocacy, at least at the national level. The Girl Scouts still sell cookies by the millions, conduct many worthwhile community activities, and involve many families that hold traditional values. But the national organization, like many others, has been captured by a liberal elite that sometimes tips its hand.
Here’s a quote from Kavita Ramdas from a newsletter published on her group’s Web site in 2003:
“As women in the United States celebrate the 30th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, (a landmark case that gave women in the U.S. the right to decide when and if to bear children), we are proud to bring you this issue of
Raising Our Voices, highlighting ongoing efforts to protect women’s reproductive health and rights.

The breach in values as a result of the way women see themselves
The breach in values which was introduced into society by the Frankfurt School and Feminism must be considered one of the most devastating political attacks on the family to date. Under the influence of neo-Marxist ideology of the sixties, the natural task of women as housewives and mothers was no longer valued. In many families this led to conflicts, uncertainty and a fundamental questioning of hitherto internalised values. No longer valuing the role of the woman and mother can hinder a girl's natural and positive identification with her mother. Many young mothers today are tormented by dissatisfaction with their role as housewife and mother, by wrong notions of self-realisation, and by an inability to adjust to everyday tasks in the life of a woman. This breach in values can find expression in feelings that too much is expected of them, for example, or an aversion towards daily household chores.
Women and mothers have been so often made extremely uncertain regarding the tasks specific to their sex that emotionally they are no longer capable of affording their children proper attention. This sort of inner rejection of the natural tasks of a woman and mother greatly endangers the emotional development of children who are vitally dependent on the full emotional commitment of their mothers. Moreover, the increasing spread of feminism and the battle of the sexes it advocates frequently poisons men and women relationships, preventing a relationship based on equality.
Since the World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, every attempt has been made to impose the breach of values and feminism on all countries in the world. Maria Mies, long-time feminist with cadre training in dialectic materialism, stated at the conference that third-world countries had first to be taught that it would be impossible for them to realise women's rights in their present societies. The idea is to force a Marxist concept of womanhood upon other cultures. This new form of First-World cultural imperialism attempts to penetrate the families of other cultures and to make mothers, who often still enjoy a more natural and deeper relationship to their children, uncertain. The goal is the destruction of the family. An insidious genocide is planned, which urgently needs to find debate.
17 April, 2002
Pre-eclampsia can be dangerous for both mother and developing baby, and occurs only during pregnancy, usually during the later stages.
It causes a pregnant woman's blood pressure to rise to very high levels.
This causes complications such as fluid retention and can lead to the condition eclampsia, which is associated with dangerous convulsions.
Deconstructing the Family
Rita Joseph
Today all over the world, radical feminism is busy deconstructing the natural order. An errant philosophy has taken hold that all history is constructed, that there is no single true history, no single truth: that all societies, all systems of law are mere constructs; they may be deconstructed and reconstructed differently. Around the world, legislatures, judiciaries and the media are also caught up in this nonsense, all in a ludicrous attempt to free human activity from the moral constraints of the natural law. Even fundamental institutions like marriage and the family are being ordered differently, experimentally.
Link between Abortion and Rise in Substance Abuse
Analysis of this substance abuse variable showed that a report of substance abuse following a first pregnancy was associated significantly with (a) abortion for all women, (b) abortion for adolescents, and (c) abortion for women over 19 years of age. Women who aborted a first pregnancy were five times more likely to report subsequent substance abuse than women who carried to term, and they were four times more likely to report substance abuse compared to those who suffered a natural loss of their first pregnancy (i.e., due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or stillbirth).

ABORTION MYTHS ?
One pro-feminist journalist was honest enough to express these concerns: “For me, the problem is not feminists’ pro-choice stance, but that the stance has no moral context. All the emphasis is on rights. None is on the morality of using those rights. It is as if we were back in the 1850’s: No one is talking about whether slavery is wrong; instead, the whole discussion revolves around the question of whether each slaveholder has a basic right to decide the issue for himself.”

CO-ED TRAINING DAMAGES HEALTH OF WOMEN SOLDIERS
British Army Doctor Confirms Findings
A British Army doctor has confirmed that female soldiers are paying for "equal opportunities" with a much higher risk of injury than men during basic training. Writing in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, Lt. Col. Ian Gemmell noted that women’s rates of injury doubled when co-ed basic training was introduced, due to differences in strength, bone mass, and stride length.

More in America Putting Off Marriage
Dec 1/04 - WASHINGTON - It used to be common for men and women to get a marriage certificate not too long after collecting their high school diploma. Not anymore. Census Bureau
figures for 2003 show one-third of men and nearly one-quarter of women between the ages of 30 and 34 have never been married, nearly four times the rates in 1970.
It's further evidence young people are focusing on education and careers before settling down and beginning families, experts say. Societal taboos about couples living together before marriage also have eased, said Linda Waite, a University of Chicago sociologist.
...
Data from the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey released this week show the age at which someone typically marries for the first time rose from 20.8 for women and 23.2 for men in 1970 to 25.3 and 27.1, respectively, last year.
In 1970, only 6 percent of women 30 to 34 had never been married; the figure was 23 percent in 2003. The rate for never-married men in the same age group rose from 9 percent to 33 percent.
Among younger women, some 36 percent of those 20 to 24 had never been married in 1970; last year it was 75 percent. Among men in that age group, the change was nearly as dramatic: 55 percent in 1970 to 86 percent last year.
"The majority of people still want to get married, but they see it sort of as dessert now, something that's desirable rather than necessary," said Dorion Solot, executive director of the Albany, N.Y.-based Alternatives to Marriage Project, which aims to fight discrimination based on marital status and to seek equality and fairness for unmarried people.
"People want to be more sure that they don't make a marriage mistake," Solot said.
Meanwhile, societal pressures to marry before having children have decreased, said Thomas Coleman, executive director for the Glendale, Calif.-based Unmarried America, which also promotes equality for unmarried people. Among the group's concerns are tax policies which it contends are stacked against single people.
In 2003, nearly 35 percent of all births were to unmarried women, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. That's up from 11 percent in 1970, though the rate of increase has slowed since 1995, when 32 percent of births were out-of-wedlock. Births to unmarried teens have declined since the mid-1990s.
Meaghan Lamarre, 24, a research assistant in Providence, R.I., said she and her boyfriend of 10 months "are not in a big hurry to marry." Lamarre's focus is on work and getting into an Ivy League graduate program, possibly in public policy.
"There's no time frame of when to get married.... It's not a goal," said Lamarre, an Alternatives to Marriage Project member. "I'm not opposed to it, but I think I could live happily ever after without being married."

The Seduction of Our Youth: Christian
Parents Are Discovering It CAN Happen Here
This may well be one of the most important articles to be published. It is
written in response to numerous conversations I have had recently with
concerned Christians--including hurting parents and troubled pastors. The
concern is over the disturbing trend of Christian teens being lured away
from biblical faith and morality into a distorted, self-focused,
relativistic spirituality with broad, muddied sexual boundaries.
What they are learning through different forms of media and in school is
impacting a growing number of our young people.
Not long back the National Education Association and American
Psychological Association published and distributed a pamphlet entitled:
Just the Facts, sending it to school superintendents. The coalition's aim
was as follows:
1) to advise schools against sexual-reorientation therapy.
2) to warn administrators that gay clubs must be accepted;
3) to caution schools about scientific literature that presents
heterosexuality as the norm.[1]
I have mentioned on numerous occasions that most of the American
public--including Christians are clueless as to the diabolical, systematic
agenda the gay community has meticulously carried out over the past thirty
years.
For example, the removal of homosexuality as a psychological disorder from
the American Psychiatric Association's DSM (Diagnostic Statical Manual) in
the early 1970's was not the result of convincing, newly discovered
evidence which clearly established the theory that this sexual orientation
and expression was genetic (in-born).
On the contrary, it was the result of powerful, subversive gay activism.
If you ask me if I miss living as a lesbian, my answer to you would be, "No way!"
An inquiry into the activities of John Owen, who killed himself in
October 2001 before he was due to stand trial over five charges of
molesting boys at a south Wales school, found that one official failed in
his duty of care so badly that he may have broken the law.
The children's commissioner, Peter Clarke, said he believed that on
the balance of probabilities, Owen did sexually abuse children at the
Rhydfelen school in Pontrypridd, south Wales, over a number of years.
His inquiry report, published today, concluded that officials at Mid
Glamorgan local education authority (LEA) made a "deal" with
Owen, who was 47 when he died, to keep a lid on the child abuse
allegations. This meant that the matter was never referred to the police
or social services, leaving the teacher free to abuse further children.

The Hidden Side of Hinduism: Temple prostitution
India - Ap 02 - Temple prostitution has probably existed with every ancient religion. References are made to its practice in the Old Testament. Unfortunately, the practice continues today, here in Hindu India, even though it is "illegal" (just as prostitution is "illegal" in the U.S.). In the Miraj-Sangli area, with a population over 250,000 people, there are at least 5,000 prostitutes in five red-light districts. These women and their children are now the focus of a social outreach program of the Church of North India. In this post-Easter time, when the power of the resurrection is so fresh in our minds, we look for just such a miraculous outpouring of power to reach these unfortunate people, to bring hope to the hopeless, and life to the dying. That’s why
"Prabha Tara Sanstha," "The Morning Star Society" exists.
In India, temple prostitutes are called devdasi, "servants of the gods." Nearly all of these devdasi come from outcaste groups; they are the very poorest of the poor. In Hinduism, it is a solemn obligation for all parents to see that their daughters are safely cared for, in marriage. Dowries are very expensive, and the poorest cannot afford them, especially when they have many daughters. An alternative to paying a dowry is to take their daughters at puberty, and "marry" them to a god at the temple, especially in March and April every year. The practice is encouraged by some priests with a promise that the whole family may be born into a higher caste with their next rebirth. After the priests are finished with the services of the new
devdasi, a well-established network exists for them to become commercial
"workers" (CSWs) in brothels

The Hidden Side of Hinduism: Child Marriages
Stop child marriages, SC directs SPs
Legal Correspondent
New Delhi, March 21
Concerned over the social evil of solemnising thousands of child marriages across the country every year, even in a state like Kerala, the Supreme Court has issued direction to the Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in every districts to take immediate steps to prevent the illegal practice.
"…Collectors and SPs of all districts in the states shall make endeavour to prevent child marriages as far as possible and preferably in cases where mass marriages take place" on certain festivals, a Bench of Mr Justice S. B. Sinha and Mr Justice S. H. Kapadia in a recent order said, while hearing a pending public interest litigation (PIL) on the issue by NGO, Forum for Fact Finding Documentation and Advertisement (FFFDA).
Taking serious view of the callous attitude of authorities towards the social evil, enforcing the Child Marriage Restraint Act effectively and avoiding prosecution of the offenders, the court took note of the Union Government's submission that a Bill for making the law more stringent in respect of child marriage had already been introduced in Parliament.
The research paper annexed with the PIL by NGO counsel and senior advocate Colin Gonsalves indicated towards a "disturbing" scenario about solemnisation of thousands of marriages of children
aged between 9 to 17 years in various states, particularly Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh every year.

Boomers Are Just As Inclined to Go Online
KEY LEGAL CASES INVOLVING FREE SPEECH and the FIRST AMENDMENT
(TO U.S. Bill of Rights, Rights that ALL American Citizens have)
Hague v. C.I.O., 307 U.S. 496 (1939).
The United States Supreme Court held that citizens have a "guaranteed access" to streets, parks, and other "traditional public forum." The privilege to use the streets and parks for communication of views may be regulated in the best interests of all, but it must not, under the guise of regulation, be abridged or denied. Mere inconvenience to the government will not outweigh free speech interests. The government must use the least restrictive means of achieving legitimate, content neutral objectives.
Schneider v. State, 308 U.S. 147 (1939). The United States Supreme Court did not allow cities to completely forbid leaflet distribution in order to prevent littering. The objective of keeping the streets clean does not outweigh the right to distribute literature in public.
Freedman v. Maryland, 380 U.S. 51 (1965). Public officials may
not be given overly broad discretion to grant or deny permits or licenses for free speech.
Cantwell v. Connecticut, 310 U.S. 296 (1940). Speech may
not be prohibited merely because it offends some listeners.
Kunz v. New York, 340 U.S. 290 (1951). The United States Supreme Court did not allow a permit to include any restrictions on a speaker's right of free expression. Permits may not be used as a prior restraint on free speech activities. Inappropriate or illegal activities may only be punished after they have occurred.
Forsyth County v. The Nationalist Movement, 112 S.Ct. 2395
(1992). A city may not consider the listeners' reaction to a speaker when permitting free speech activities.
Cox v. Louisiana, 379 U.S. 536 (1965). Hecklers may
not be allowed to veto a speaker's right of free speech. Police must control a crowd rather than arrest the speaker in order to maintain order. Regulations may be imposed on free speech to control traffic flow.
Gregory v. City of Chicago, 394 U.S. 111 (1969). Peaceful marching, chanting, and singing is protected by the First Amendment.
Grayned v. Rockford, 408 U.S. 104 (1972). Free speech expression may be regulated for noise content in appropriate places such as hospitals or schools
while classes are in session. The general test is to ask whether the expressive activity is basically incompatible with the normal activities of a particular place at a particular time. Unamplified speech is permissible for "street preachers" on public streets.
