As we will see, this is NOT an accurate Bible version.  The Hidden History of the Chinese Union Version Chinese Union Version [Ho Ho Version ] (HE HE BEN Version)  The Bible is the basis for every Christian believer's faith, and that is why it is so important that it be an Accurate Bible. According to Tian Feng, the China "Christian Council" itself publishes 20 different Chinese versions of the Bible. These editions of the Bible differ in style and presentation in order to reflect the various educational and spiritual levels and needs of believers and seekers within the church today. As well as Chinese Bibles, the CCC also publishes translations in the various minority nationality languages within China, such as Korean, Yi, Miao, Lisu, Jingpo, Lahu and Dai, among others. However, despite appearances, that is not a solution. The work of the China "Christian Council" is itself a problem, because - as we will find out - NONE of the "20 different Chinese versions of the Bible" is based upon the true  Bible texts in Greek that has been used by the Christian Church for almost 2000 years.   As stated before, the most common version used within the Chinese church today is the Chinese Union Version. We can understand some of the problems with its text in chinese by looking at the HOW and WHY of its existence.  This translation of the Chinese Union Version was commissioned by the Shanghai Missionary Society in 1890 and completed by a 16 member committee of foreign missionaries in 1919, with the aid of several Chinese believers to check the accuracy of the Chinese language used.  But what most people don't know is that there was already a Chinese Version of the Bible that the Presbyterian Mission in Shanghai had already commissioned and was in print and in use by 1880.  So since this is the case, we need to ask the question: WHY - when there was an Excellent and very good Chinese New Testament already available  thanks to the Presbyterian Mission in Shanghai, did the Shanghai Missionary Society decide to STOP using the old translation in Chinese and instead commission a NEW translation ?    What had changed between 1880 and 1890 ?  Students of Bible Versions already know the answer:    It was in 1881 that the Fraudulent [False] Greek Text of Westcott and Hort was published in England and the USA. When Westcott and Hort published their false Greek Text New Testament, they ALSO published an English Version of that False Greek Text.    That's Right ! Westcott and Hort published TWO [2] New Testaments: 1. the first one was in Greek (and was simply their made-up & invented greek Text) 2. the second one was the English version of the Bible known as the Revised Version.    The Chinese Union Version takes the Revised Version of Westcott and Hort 1885 in English as its source text, which itself is absolutely NOT based on the King James Bible, despite all lies and deception to the contrary. Is this clear ? the Revised Version of Westcott & Hort 1885 in English is NOT based on the King James Version, and Westcott and Hort refused to use the King James Version of the Bible. Westcott and Hort refused to use ANY Bible Version used by 1) Protestants or 2) the Protestant Reformation, which had helped millions around the world find true salvation and Freedom.  This bad, wrong, and incorrect translation commissioned by the Shanghai Missionary Society was named the "Chinese Union Version" as a reflection of the fact that translators from all the major denominations of the time came together and worked in co-operation with each other in order to produce the finished work. Unfortunately, those "translators" did NOT use the historic Bible. They - instead - used the Fraudulent Bible of Westcott and Hort.  Those translators in 1890 at the Shanghai Missionary Society were tricked and misled into abandoning the Right and Accurate Chinese New Testament ALREADY AVAILABLE which had been produced by the Presbyterian Mission in Shanghai. In other words, in 1890, the Shanghai Missionary Society abandoned Protestant teachings and the Protestant Bibles in order to begin to use a Corrupt version of the Bible. Most Chinese were Never informed of this.  The Chinese Union Version has now been available for nearly 80 years and has the longest history of use and the widest distribution for any Chinese translation of the Bible within the Chinese church.    The style of the Chinese used in the Union Version is similar to that of the King James Bible, and Liu points out that every effort is made in the Union Version to be faithful to the original texts in English of the Corrupted Revised Version of Westcott and Hort, which is NOT faithful to the King James Bible and is NOT faithful to the Historic Greek Text of the New Testament.   The liberal Bible Societies in the West did not want Christians in the West to find out that the foreign language Bibles were being changed and altered to a New and Wrong Bible. They were afraid that Christians would find out and stop supporting their efforts. Because of this, many foreign language Bibles sound as though they agree with the King James Bible, but in reality, they do not.    Other than the Bible which we have brought out again[the 1880 Chinese & English Accurate version of the Presbyterian Mission in Shanghai], there is no Bible society that publishes a Chinese version of the Bible that agrees with the Historic Bibles used by Christians before now.  Today's Chinese Version Among more contemporary translations of the Bible into Chinese, "Today's Chinese Version" (TCV) has had the widest distribution and circulation. This translation was published by the United Bible Societies in 1979 and takes the Today's English Version as its blueprint. This is another version that is a false, fraudulent and corrupted Chinese version. It is corrupt in Chinese because it is based on the TEV. The TEV -  Today's English Version - is based upon the Greek Text of Westcott and Hort. THE TEV is another corrupted Bible Version.  The United Bible Societies is an organization that published Bibles around the world. Its purpose is to substitute the Corrupt Bibles of Westcott & Hort, and get churches and countries to STOP using the Historic Greek Texts of the Bible that are accurate and reliable.  A second edition of the corrupt TCV - "Today's Chinese Version" - came out in 1984, and was reprinted 20 times to 1994. A revised version appeared in 1995, making reference to "original" Hebrew and Greek texts during the revision. HOwever, these were Not the original Hebrew and Greek texts used by Christians in centuries past. They were the Corrupt Hebrew Text of the old Testament of a German Anti-Protestant Unbeliever named Kittel.  Although in the New Testament, Jesus clearly states that the Pentateuch was written by Moses, Kittel believed that Jesus - the Son of God - was Wrong. Kittel, who translated the Old Testament also believed that the Old Testament was NOT the true Bible, and that the True Bible had been lost and could never be found again. Kittel was an Unbeliever. But he was still hired by United Bible Societies, and All Modern Versions either 1) in English or 2) that are from the United Bible Societies...use the Fraudulent Old Testament of Kittel.   The Revised version of the TCV appeared in 1995, but it was based on the Fraudulent texts in Greek of Westcott & Hort, who made up their own Greek New Testament. The Union Version in Chinese is NOT accurate, and the TCV in Chinese is not accurate either. They are Both Fraudulent Bibles.  The China "Christian Council"recenlty printed a Today's English Version / Today's Chinese Version Bilingual ( TEV/TCV ) edition of the New Testament. All that this means is as a result, there is now a Bilingual Version in Chinese and English, that is NOT accurate in Chinese, and it is NOT accurate in English either.  The Bible by Lü Zhenzhong In an article written for Tian Feng, Liu describes how Chinese theologians and Bible scholars have also made extensive use of a translation of the Bible by Lü Zhenzhong. Lü began his translation as a scholar at Yanjing University in 1940 and completed the full translation in 1970, working only from [the wrong] "original" Hebrew and Greek texts.  This translation claims that it uses the direct- translation method, with exact one-to-one correspondences, reflecting the original meaning and content of each word and even keeping to the original grammar and structures. In this way, some problems that are faced in the Union Version itself are avoided in the Lü translation". The reason that this is so is because the Chinese Union Version - as you may recall used the Corrupt version of the ENGLISH Bible of Westcott and Hort.  However the Bible by Lü Zhenzhong STILL uses the Corrupted Hebrew and Greek texts of the United Bible Societies, which is the wrong Hebrew Text of Kittel, and the Fraudulent and False Greek New Testament of Westcott and Hort. Therefore, the Bible by Lü Zhenzhong used the WRONG Hebrew and Greek Texts, and came up with a Wrong Chinese Translation. The Latin Vulgate and the Roman Catholic  Sigao Bible Society The Chinese Catholic Bishops' Conference commissioned its own translation of the Bible into Chinese by the Roman Catholic Sigao Bible Society, established in Beijing in 1945, which was revised between 1961-68 and published in Hong Kong. In 1992, thanks to the power of the Vatican, this version was once again published in Mainland China. In this version, names of people and places are transliterated very differently from those in the Union Version. For example, Moses and John become "Moxi" and "Yuehan" in the Union Version but "Meise" and "Nuowang" in the Sigao Bible. The Sigao translation also uses different terms to refer to God and the Holy Spirit. This translation is worse than the versions of Westcott and Hort, and the reason is that it is based on the Latin Text of the Roman Catholic Latin Vulgate. What this means, is that the Roman Catholic Bibles rejected accurate Greek Manuscripts in favor of Wrong Greek Texts because those wrong Greek Texts were in favor of a Roman Catholic Doctrine of salvation by Good Works, and NOT through the Completed Atonement of Jesus Christ.  In 1992, thanks to the power of the Vatican, this version was once again published in Mainland China, thereby making the Innacurate Latin Vulgate available to the Chinese in their own innacurate Roman Catholic Translation. -----------   1. By reading this section, you have already learned more basics about the history of Chinese Bible Versions than most of the other websites & places you have visited. That is great, but it is only a start. Now you should make a commitment to Learn  1. Why the Revised Version of the New Testament is wrong, and 2. Why the Historic Greek Text used by Christians All over the World for 2000 years is the RIGHT & Accurate New Testament, and 3. Make a commitment to the Lord of Heaven (the Triune Christian God), that you will continue to serve Him, and start explaining to your friends and Christian Brothers and Sisters, the problems of the Modern Chinese versions of the Bible.    Here is how you can do this: 1. Learn Why the Revised Version of the New Testament is wrong In order to do this, you will need some books that can explain what the problems are with the Revised Version, and the work of Westcott & Hort. Which Version: Revised Standard or the King James ?  This book explains the differences and changes between the English Text of the King James Bible and the CHANGED English Text of the Revised Version of Westcott & Hort 2. Learn Which Greek Manuscripts Westcott & Hort used, and why they were rejected by the Early Christian Church The Revision Revised by Oxford Professor John William Burgon. This book was written by a strong Christian who was fluent in Greek. It does a very good job of explaining how Westcott & Hort CHANGED the Greek Text of the Bible, and how they deliberately (on purpose) chose the wrong Greek Manuscripts for their Greek and English Bibles.    3. Learn Why Codex Vaticanus is So REVERED BY THOSE WHO DISCOUNT AND IGNORE THE HISTORIC RECORDS OF THE EARLY CHURCH, AND ALL OF THE MORE THAN 2000 PLACES WHERE THIS MANUSCRIPT CHANGES THE TEXT OF THE BIBLE Codex B and its Allies - VOLUME 1 and 2 -   A Study and An Indictment This Two-Volume Set is the one that is often used to respond to the advocates of the Modern Versions of the Bible. Those Modern Version defenders do not know just how much Westcott & Hort changed the Bible, and Changed the Greek Manuscripts. This Two Volume Set explains the changes that Westcott & Hort Made, LINE BY LINE. These two books are very good to explain to Seminary Professors and Pastors all of the BAD changes that are contained in the 1. The Bad Work of Westcott & Hort and 2. The Incorrect & Bad work of the Greek Nestle-Aland New Testament, (which is based on the Westcott & Hort Greek Text)     4. LEARN WHY MODERN PROFESSORS in WESTERN SEMINARIES ARE SO ATTACHED TO CODEX VATICANUS AND THE INTERESTS OF ROMAN CATHOLICISM, TO DO AWAY WITH THE HISTORIC BIBLE.  Codex B and its Allies - VOLUME 2 -   By Professors Charles Hoskier "Codex B" is just another name for Codex Vaticanus. This is one of the top 2 False & Fraudulent Greek Manuscripts that Westcott & Hort used, for  a) their Greek New Testament and  b) the Revised Version of 1881 in English Codex B (Which is Codex Vaticanus) was rejected by Christians from All Centuries because it is INNACURATE and Fraudulent. It has books which do NOT belong in the Bible. IT Omits [leaves out] Many Bible Verses and Changes Many others. Codex B DISAGREES with 99% of All Koine Greek New Testament Manuscripts, including those that have been found since 1901. This is the Only Two-Volume Set that provides the Line-by-line Evidence of the Tampering of Westcott & Hort with the Greek Text of the New Testament.    5. Learn Why Westcott & Hort changed the Greek Text in their Bible, and how their co-workers hoped to convert the Entire Protestant Anglican Church to the neo-Pagan Roman Catholic Church. Here is the Proof.  Many People have not studied the life of Westcott and Hort. They also have not studied History. Because of this, they do not understand how Westcott & Hort could have been so misguided in their methods and beliefs - concerning Bible Translation and Greek Manuscripts. But the Church of England (the Anglicans) were very much affected in the 1800s by a Secret Group within this Church that attempted to take over the Entire Anglican Church and force her to become Roman Catholic and join again under the Dominion of the Roman Catholic Church. There were thousands of Anglican Priests who joined this movement, and it almost succeeded. It was called the "Oxford Movement".  This is the movement that Westcott and Hort were Part of. They were among its leaders. It was Westcott and Hort who attempted to change all Bibles away from their Historic sources & transmission BACK to the false Roman Catholic Translations.  This books documents the Secret History of the Oxford Movement. IT is important because it helps to explain the CONTEXT in which Westcott and Hort made their Revised Version into THE ANGLICAN version of the Bible.  Long out of print, this is an excellent book.      6. Learn about the Canon of the Old Testament and New Testament, and how the 66 books of the Bible are in the Oldest lists of the Books of the Bible, and how the Apostles themselves decided upon the New Testament Canon.  The 66 Books which are in the Bible are called the "Canon". They are the books which Belong in the Bible. But where is the Historic Proof and documentation about How those books became the Bible, while other Books did NOT ? In this book. This work explains the process of Canonization, about the OLD Testament AND the New Testament. It also explains the history of Old Testament Canonization, and also Why the Apocryphal Books should NOT be in the Bible. This is a great book and will help Christians to be able to articulate and explain why our Bible today - is the right, true and historic Text of the Bible.    7. Learn why the Roman Catholic Church fought so hard to Ban and supress this Book (the true New Testament), and see its chrystal clarity and how this threatens the authority of religious authorities who work against God.     T.R. (New Testament)   Did God Preserve his Holy Word, that is the Text of the New Testament in Greek ? Finally made available, This is the Greek Text found in 99% of ALL New Testament GREEK Manuscripts. This Koine Classical Greek New Testament is the Greek Edition of Elzevir, and one of two editions to be known as the Textus Receptus [the Received Text] (the other being Stephens 1550/51). This is one of the most important Books which launched the Reformation. Get a copy and compare for yourself, between this Greek Text and the invented Greek Text of Westcott & Hort. OWN you own copy of the Holy Ancient Greek New Testament  Learn the power, the clarity and the richness of meaning conveyed in the Original Greek New Testament, which is very unlike the Corrupt and Confusing Greek New Testament of Westcott and Hort Textus Receptus of Stephens (1550/1551) - under the direction of F.H.A. Scrivener [sometimes listed as the text of “Stephanos” or “Estienne”, both of which mean Stephens]; This is simply the Greek Version of the New Testament which underlies the King James Version     9. Learn about your history. For all Christians, Bible History is THEIR History. Learn the History of the Translations of the Bible, and how Freedom lovers struggled for so long for an Accurate translation into the common language of the people. Under Penalty of Death, the Roman Catholic Hierarchy had forbidden ordinary people from Reading The Bible or translating it. But Men of God resisted. Read about their progress and their spiritual & real struggles Mr. Heaton is already favourably known to a wide circle of readers through his many works on History, Church History and Men of Great Character, but here he writes as a specialist in relation to what is perhaps the most momentous period in the whole history of Christendom. The volume is much more original in style than might be imagined. This is a great book to have in order to understand the history of Bibles and Bible Translation during the Period of the European Reformation of the 1600s. Learn while you can, and then use the information to bless and encourage others.     10. Learn the New Testament. Memorize it. Own your own copy. Treasure it. Now that you know which Bible version is authentic and from the true Greek Manuscripts, you can share this great & encouraging news with others. Learn about the strength and endurance that Christians have been known for, by learning to be anchored (grounded) in the true Scriptures.   Stop Reading the Wrong Bibles. Stop Reading the Corrupted Texts of Westcott and Hort in the Chinese Union Version, or the Corrupted Versions that use the Nestle-Aland invented Greek Text. This is the version that was originally translated by Strong Christians who were fluent in ancient Classic Greek And Mandarin Chinese. Don't trust your Eternal Spiritual Understanding to the Wrong Bible. Get a copy of the True Bible (this one), and start noticing the difference for yourself.            Use the TRUE Word of God: The English & Chinese New Testament of the Presbyterian Mission in Shanghai.     This is STILL the ONLY NEW TESTAMENT in CHINESE Currently Available for Free to the Public that is based upon the Historic Textus Receptus.   We do not suggest that this version is perfect, since we are aware of linguistic limitations and the fact that it was produced long before the modern simplified version of the Language. However, it can be read and understood and is translated from an accurate source Koine Greek New Testament.   While we frequently hear about all of the different translation projects that would be an improvement, and we are contacted to assure us that this IS the case, next week, next month, next year, we have not seen any releases of any other New Testament that is based upon the Textus Receptus.  WE encourage you to keep working to do better, and to make superior copies available to the public.  By all means, we encourage all to do better than what we have been able to do.      Some Churches in China ( a few) are reported to be learning English to use English versions. THat is not likely to be much of an improvement. IF they can learn English, why are Teachers and Pastors NOT teaching the Chinese to read, study and learn Ancient Koine Greek, so they could read an accurate version in Ancient Greek for themselves ?   Then they would instantly know which versions in Chinese are based on the Textus Receptus and agree with it.         IT is THIS VERSION (The one we offer) that was used and Is used by the True  Church in China.

Why Isn't More of Our site available in Chinese ?

We have had regular discussions with Bible translators  and others who can translate Chinese, but most of the time, they are technical discussion involved with translation, rather than an offer OR a willingness to help translate some of the pages and articles at this website into Chinese. 

We have also had some offers of assistance to "help us", provided that we filled out 80 forms in triplicate in order to receive funds. Since we are not willing to compromise our ministry, that was out of the question. The Bottom line is who can get the job done, and we are doing more in the short life of this ministry than are many organizations that have been established for decades. 

 We have not had any volunteers (and especially none in the West !!!) who would take their time to help translate the pages into Chinese. So please pray for us and our site in this regard. Please also pray for the Chinese People. They are the ones affected by this. 

Some people are willing to help with Chinese Bibles. Yet there are more than One Hundred Million people Right Now, from the Mainland People's Republic of China, that have active Access to the Internet. Most of them know almost Nothing about Jesus, the Bible or Christianity.  We would like to share the good news, but we do need your help to do this.

What would you translate into Chinese if you could ?

Many many pages. But an offer of volunteer translation could be for as little as helping translate one article. Keep in mind that our website is only about 10% of its actual size because we don't have the funds to do more. Even at its current size, we know that we are reaching hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world already. 

But there are many articles that we would like to have translated into Chinese on the Deity of Jesus Christ, how to grow in your christian faith, where does Asia fit into the end-times, how does the Bible teach love, how should we study our Bible, what should we as christians pray for,  why the Prosperity gospel is contrary to true Christianity, etc. We could keep a group of volunteers active for quite some time. But the impact that any one of these would have would be enormous. 

It would take thousands of dollars to get physical Bibles over to China (which we work on and actively support, btw) - but it takes less than a week for us to have an article up and running so that Millions of Chinese speakers can find it, and the cost is far less than it would take to reach the Chinese people face-to-face. While it would be nice to have all the funds necessary, we have the desire to make the effort where we know it will count most. That DOES mean working on Chinese Bibles and Chinese Translations, but it also means helping to reach people through the internet.

Would I have to be a professional Translator to translate into Chinese ?

You would have to know Chinese pretty fluently, but you do not have to be a "professional" translator. The twelve disciples of Jesus did not have credentials. We are looking for Christians who have a willing heart for ministry. We do not expect any translator's work to be perfect (when translating articles) because that is an impossible standard. But if you are a person who is Fluent in Chinese, this is one of the definite, practical and pragmatic ways that you could have an eternal impact by taking some of your time and investing it in the Kingdom of Heaven.
