Mc Cain and and his Hatred of Christians
Testy McCain Heated Discussion with Conservative Talk-Show Host
Story below By Susan Jones
CNS Morning Editor
01 March, 2000
(CNSNews.com) - Arizona Senator John McCain Tuesday used a national platform - the Michael Reagan show, broadcast on 220 radio stations across the nation - to sound off on Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson and bigotry, a tirade that prompted the talk show host to finally hang up the phone in shocked surprise.
"I wanted to talk about the fact that as a president of the United States, you're going to be appointing judges - boy, he went off on that and started to talk about Warren Rudman, the attacks of Pat Robertson, the bigotry that's going on..." Michael Reagan later explained.
"The irony is that many of my listeners have accused me of being a McCain backer," said Ronald Reagan's oldest son.
At the end of the cell phone interview in which McCain refused to discuss the issues that Michael Reagan raised, Reagan noted that it "didn't matter what question you asked him ... everything was an attack. The man does not have the temperament to be President of the United States."
"I uphold the 11th commandment of Ronald Reagan - thou shalt not speak ill of another [GOP] candidate, and his cell phone started to go south and I just said, 'good-bye,' I didn't want to talk to him anymore, he came across hateful, and just a man - I tell you - I could not vote for in California."
"Maybe I caught him on a bad night, he lost 56 delegates in Virginia. But you know, when you're president of the United States, there are a lot of bad nights, and who's he going to take it out on if indeed you happen to disagree with him on any issue that is out there."
Reagan had invited John McCain to call into his show from the campaign trail in California. The resulting exchange was remarkable enough that the Bush-for-president campaign released a transcript of it.
McCain and Christophobia: When Anti-Christian Prejudice
Halts Progress
Hudson Institute - The next president needs to understand how and why important
initiatives in many areas have been hindered and sometimes destroyed by what
could be called Christophobia, the fear of Christianity and the desire to
run from it, sometimes into the arms of desperate alternatives. The prevalence
and significance of Christophobia become clearer when we look at some of the big
news stories of the past
The McCain (John McCain) campaign changed even more remarkably. According to reporter Richard Sisk, “McCain said his candidacy has undergone a transformation,” and that he had become “determined to rid the GOP of big money and the Christian Right influence.” This was sensational because the Christian Right was a large source of the GOP’s volunteers and was probably the Republican Party’s moral center as well. Although McCain and his followers claimed no animus toward Christianity in general, their rhetoric was similar to that displayed by Christophobes
If the president were to raise American support for the Coptic Christians
in Egypt, more Egyptian police would stand up for law and order instead of
standing by and even abetting mob violence against the nation’s Christians. In
Vietnam, worshipers at house churches regularly face raids and arrests; any
improvement of U.S.-Vietnam relations should require Hanoi to cease such
persecution.
The starting point for all these improvements is a recognition by the next
president, communicated to journalists and other opinion leaders, that
Bible-believing Christians do have reason for concern about treatment of
Christians here and abroad.
Multi-Millionaire John McCain's "new" party
[Reporting Below] By Linda Bowles
WND - Republicans have a right to be angry as they contemplate what happened in Michigan. In that Republican primary, George W. Bush was supported by seven of 10 Republican voters -- and lost. Seventy percent of those who voted
for McCain were non-Republicans -- and he won.
There is no way Republican stalwarts cannot be stunned that in their high-turnout Michigan primary, only 47 percent of the total vote was by Republicans, the rest being independents and Democrats.
Following his victory, McCain triumphantly declared that "our party is sending a message." One has to wonder why McCain thinks he has a mandate to speak for a party, the vast majority of whom reject him. McCain is also spreading the word in California and elsewhere that he is forming a "new majority." What kind of a majority would that be, one without Republicans? If so, it might need a new name. Maybe we could call it the New Democratic Party. That has a ring to it.
It is fair to say that the McCain people were soliciting the corruption of their own party's nominating process. One wonders how John "Straight Talk" McCain could keep a straight face while calling himself a "Reagan Republican." He should be sued for slander.
Just as the issue of the Confederate flag was ignored for years, and has now been resurrected to inflame racial conflicts, so too is a malignant effort underway to promote conflict between all Christians and those who are terrified that someone is going to impose morality upon them and destroy their lives.
One might be able to argue that the media is simply trying to stir up a good story if they were also pressuring the Democratic Party to dissociate itself from its own radical elements; for example, those groups and individuals within its ranks who favor killing healthy and mature babies as they are leaving the womb, those who think protecting the job of an incompetent teacher is more important than a child learning to read, those who reek of
[their own] anti-Christian intolerance, and those who advocate same-sex marriage. Don't hold your breath.
The reason for the media's selective outrage requires no explanation.
