Are you further disputing the scholarship of Hort (a Cambridge Professor) whose pioneering work on the Greek text of the New Testament is noted for its accuracy and the sobriety of its judgements?

What Scholarship ? What sobriety of Judgement ? Do you have real facts to suggest that Westcott & Hort demonstrate any sobriety ? What facts are those ?

The the sobriety of their judgement in denying that Jesus is the Christ ?

The sobriety of their judgement in their Catholic Theology ?

The sobriety of their judgement in rejecting that Genesis 1 through 3 never occured ?

The sobriety of their judgement in being involved in the Occult ?

The sobriety of their judgement in despising evangelicals ?

The sobriety of their judgement in deciding to use Manuscripts that they knew were in historical disagreement with the Texts of the Bible ?

The the sobriety of their judgement in chosing Codex Vaticanus that contradicts 98% of the rest of Biblical Manuscripts in Greek ?

IF any ONE of these points is true, that would be a serious problem. IF any one of these points were true, it would be the basis for ensuring that these men would not be allowed to be our Pastor.

Yet many will pick up their work and accept false translations. As to their "sobriety of Judgement", I think this exists mainly in the minds of their defenders, such as yourself.

This is what I meant by the "presumption of credibility". You are granting Westcott & Hort your presumption that they are credible. And the more research you do into that topic, the more you will find that Westcott & Hort were enemies of the Jesus Christ and of Christianity.

Some have said of Westcott: "His view was essentially conservative with several noteworthy blemishes".

What is "Balance" ... to be 50% committed to truth and 50% committed to error ?

Jesus did not teach "balance". Jesus taught truth.

When you suggest that there are "problems" with the theology of Westcott, that is a problem...because you are according to him the benefit of the doubt reserved for Laymen, for those who do not know and who have not studied the Bible. Westcott attended Cambridge university. He was in the program that trains PREACHERS. Right in the midst of that program is when he decided to seek making contact with the dead, through seances.

Now that is not somebody who is just a little bit off. That is someone who is walking in ways that are 100% opposite of what the Bible teaches us as Christians to do.

To suggest that Westcott was a conservative theologian is simply an attempt to hold on to what you understand must be let go of.

Would someone who is Biblically conservative be against evangelicals and evangelical positions ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative be trying to overthrow the Text of the Bible for 1800 years ? Is that something a conservative does ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative be speaking words in praise/worship of Mary and Mariolatry ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative who values truth really be exalting the rites and rituals of the Catholic Church ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative be attending Seances, and trying to contact the Dead, a practice specifically forbidden in scripture ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative reject the Deity of Jesus Christ ?

Would someone who is Biblically conservative say that John 1:1 does NOT apply to Jesus Christ ?

These are Not what people who are Biblically conservatives do. These positions are not positions that conservatives hold to.

Just because we may not be not fans of the results of seeking truth - in one aspect or another - does not mean that we should turn a blind eye when we know that the theology of a leaders runs Counter and Contrary to what Jesus himself taught in the Bible.

This is what the Bible has to say about Westcott, based on what Westcott said about himself:

John 3: 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Calling Westcott a "conservative" does not make him that. When we agree to believe on the words of men that we know are not walking with the Lord, men that we know are working against the Gospel, being willing to accept their occult theology results in spiritual deception.

Is the Information documented ?

Do I - before God - have a responsibility if I am a Christian to accept and act on the information in this article ?

Am I comfortable in the knowledge, that some leaders under the guise of clarifying the text of the Bible, are actually changing that text, and changing MY understanding of what God wants to share with me through His Holy Word, the Old Testament and the New Testament ?

Do I understand that these "small" changes number from the hundreds to the THOUSANDS depending on which Modern Versions I use, and that these changes serve to cut away the clarity and the specific understanding found in the Greek New Testament, that these new modern versions are preventing me from understanding ?

Do I understand that most of these new Modern Versions were not developed because there was a genuine need, but because the teams of Bible Translators were Hired by PUBLISHING companies who are eager to make a profit on the Word of God, which remains the Number ONE bestseller every week of every year, and that these Publishers decided to cash in ?

Do I understand that the problem was that if these Bible Adjusters and Correctors did NOT make the changes that they chose to, that they would not be able to claim copyright protection, and therefore they would not be able to make a financial Profit from their new versions ?

Do I understand that there are Spiritual Forces that want to prevent me from having GREATER spiritual understanding about God, but that God himself is always in MORE of a hurry than I am, for Me to get to know HIM ?

Do I realize what my personal state of preparation will be, within me, when Islam becomes the Dominant Religion in the United States, as it is already in Europe, and how I will personally be required to defend my Faith, by argument and persuasion, using knowledge of the Bible and of History and of Christianity, and that God will rightly hold me accountable because I am claiming to be His Child and a personal follower of Jesus Christ ?

In view of these facts, should I try to set aside more time for the study of the Word of God, and more time for the study of History and the true history of the Christian Church, and to learn about how other Christians in the past, actually learned to have and to gain GREAT spiritual strength ?

If no one reaches out to help prepare me for the coming challenges, whose job is it STILL for me to be prepared to answer these challenges and questions ?
