The Pastoral Orientation of XOFC

Over the years of this ministry, We have come face to face with one constant fact: Most Pastors are Not Pastoring and Most Pastors have abandoned their congregations. Oh we know that they are still physically there, and that is Not what we are talking about.

We do not wish to concentrate on this exclusively, but we have made this decision: we will begin disclosing to our audience (which numbers in the thousands upon thousands) just how spiritually bankrupt many (statistically...most ?) pastors are. Now if you are a good pastor, and a Godly pastor, and you are honestly seeking God, then there is nothing to be concerned about. 

But there are many pastors out there who are mediocre, who are committed not to truth or to Jesus, but rather to picking up a paycheck in His name. You know who you are. Many of these pastors are those who are a) associate pastors b) assistant pastors or c) pastors in charge of particular ministries. You know what the problem is: You are staying silent. You are accepting that your church is being led astray, either with programs, or with theology that is Not teaching and equipping people to have a relationship that is DEEPLY grounded in Jesus Christ and that is teaching people How to study the Bible personally.  You Hope that there is not a problem, but you know that there is. You Wish there were not a problem but there is. And someone has bought your silence with a paycheck. 

But there is a problem if the price for your paycheck...is that your church is greatly suffering. No, not through persecution, but through lack of leadership. If you need to start a Bible study for your fellow pastors at your church, then start doing it. If you need to get books to learn about other Christians who stood up for their faith in the past, then start doing it.  There are Too Many pastors who are standing directly in the way of the Holy Spirit and His work in their church, and we know...that they Know this. 

We are committed to the development of the spiritual body of Christ, through strong personal and individual growth of each individual Christian one at a time. However, we are NOT committed to sustaining any church, which simply thinks of itself as a "church" because it has Four Walls. 

The teachings of the Bible clearly explain that the church are the People in the Building, and NOT the building itself. Many churches have decided to build monuments to their own self, by errecting buildings which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and serve absolutely No purpose, when a building that costs One TENTH of the price - could just as easily have accomplished the same task.

Do you know that here - at xofc - that we have to actually Post in Spanish requests that people would STOP requesting books from us, because we do not have the funds to produce them or to pay for postage ???

Do you know that we cannot produce Bibles for the public at large in many countries, because even though we know which versions are accurate, and which ones are not, that we cannot afford the printing costs ? Many countries don't have Bibles, many other ones are now Criminals for having a Bible (thanks to the silence of American Pastors &  Pastors in the West), and many other countries are so awash and saturated with false versions of the Bible, that a strong spiritual life, characterized by great Spiritual Depth and Discernment, is almost impossible. 

There is a reason for this: It is the selfishness of local congregations as led by their local pastors. Many of these churches in the prosperous West - are so carnal that they adopt almost every new kind of paganism that is infiltrating the churches, INSTEAD of going back and concentrating on the spiritual life of each individual within the congregation. 

As a pastor, you probably know that there are more than Three Hundred Thousand Churches in the USA. Does it FEEL like there are 300,000 church congregations in the U.S. ? And if not, why not ? 

Because Pastors are not leading. Do we mean to suggest that if churches were 
"spiritual", that they would send us funds as a sign of their spirituality ? No, there is no direct connection. 

But even though there are many ministries to support, we would not be receiving the email that we do, and we would not be constantly confirming that OTHER COUNTRIES are sending Foreign Missionaries to the USA, to do for average people, what PASTORS here are  supposed to be doing - in anycase. We do think that if more pastors taught what is right and Biblical, that a few more table crums might fall our way for the work of the ministry, but it is the fact that so many people are Spiritually starving. 

Our goals will be to help raise a generation that can discern very rapidly between those churches which have exemplary and strong Spiritual leadership, and the churches which have a weak spirituality and false doctrine, through the placid acceptance of leaders who have no desire to have their congregations either seek truth or find it. 

After all, if church leaders were actually teaching and preaching Biblical depth and truth, they would be held accountable to a much higher standard. Most Pastors cringe at this, because they have no desire for their congregations to know Biblical truth. 

The days of that kind of leadership are rapidly closing. People today are finding it easier and easier to bypass wrong leadership, and Pastors with uncommitted hearts. We would ask for prayer & support from those Pastors who share the same vision we have:  to see this new generation trained up to face the toughest circumstances and learn to stand in the righteousness of Christ, based on a personal faith from a relationship with Jesus, that far too many evangelicals pay only lip-service to. 

We have opened a new section here for young Christians, to help equip them to learn how to discern between Good pastors and bad ones, and how to discern between spiritually growing congregations, and spiritually dead ones. (and this has NOTHING to do with "Purpose-Driven Churches", which By definition are almost all already DEAD in anycase, or with so-called Power ministries...that have fallen into accepting Demon-possessed teachers as if they actually had NEW revelation from the Holy Spirit that CONTRADICTS the plain & Historic teachings of the Bible) 

When Pastors begin to lead and help those ministries which do, then the church will have the opportunity to have the Spiritual impact, which Christ has scripturally called us to have.
