Management Guru Peter Drucker, 95, Dies

LOS ANGELES - Peter F. Drucker, revered as the father of modern management for his numerous books and articles stressing innovation, entrepreneurship and strategies for dealing with a changing world, died Friday. He was 95.

Drucker died of natural causes at his home in Claremont, east of Los Angeles, said Bryan Schneider, a spokesman for Claremont Graduate University, where Drucker taught.

"He is purely and simply the most important developer of effective management and of effective public policy in the 20th century," former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Friday. "In the more than 30 years that I've studied him, talked with him and learned from him, he has been invaluable and irreplaceable."

Drucker was considered a management visionary for his recognition that dedicated employees are key to the success of any corporation, and that marketing and innovation should come before worries about finances.

His ability to explain his principles in plain language helped them resonate with ordinary managers, said former Intel Corp. Chairman Andy Grove.

"Consequently, simple statements from him have influenced untold numbers of daily actions. They did mine over decades," Grove said.

Drucker championed concepts such as management by objective and decentralization, and his motivational techniques have been used by executives at some of the biggest companies in corporate America, including Intel and Sears, Roebuck & Co.

In the early 1940s, Drucker was invited to study General Motors' inner workings, an experience that led to his 1946 management book, "Concept of the Corporation." He went on to write more than 30 books and start a foundation for non-profit management.

Peter Drucker and Rick Warren - Impact on the Lutheran Church

Peter Drucker:
The Man Who Replaced C.F.W. Walther in the LCMS

(Lutheran Church)

Drucker, who is no theologian, makes an insightful analysis of mega-churches and the Church Growth Movement. People who attend them believe there is more value in “spiritual experience” than “ritual”. In other words, they want “feelings” over unchanging doctrinal facts and liturgy. He couldn’t be more correct. Here he outlines the collapse of the LCMS. This is what the COP is struggling to bring about with PLI the defeat of doctrine and the victory of felt needs with leadership training.

Cascione contemplates how Peter Drucker is making fools out of the LCMS District Presidents. The genius of Drucker has overlooked one key component of the social phenomenon he characterizes as the emergence of 20,000 mostly non-denominational large pastoral mega-churches in the last 30 years. Drucker completely underestimates the effect of millennial madness that afflicted the church in the year 1000 AD, 1260 AD, 1666 AD, 1900 AD, and now 2000 AD. What Drucker calls a new social phenomenon is really history repeating itself.

The COP bought the ranch because their seminary professors, mostly apostates and now members of the ELCA, taught them the insignificance of Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. These District Presidents glad-handed and back-slapped their way into office with the unspoken understanding from fellow clergy that they would look the other way on doctrinal matters for the financial benefit of all. Their cohorts in the Michigan 102, Forward, and the Texas, California, Florida/ Georgia, Minnesota South District Offices, to name a few, are working feverishly to bring about the “change” in the LCMS.

Faith Incubators pushes the new Gospel of Social Transformation

“Faith Inkubators” was started by Rev. Rich Melheim (ELCA) who started a mentor-based program at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, MN. By the Fall of 96 over 1000 congregations were experimenting with the program as living laboratories. “The movement currently involves 2/3 ELCA and 1/3 LCMS congregations and has its first UCC, Presbyterian, Methodist and Catholic test sites.” Yes, “Faith Inkubators” is a pan denominational, globalist, relational, catechism.

“Faith Inkubators” strives for transformation through “PROCESS”. Each child is assigned an adult mentor or “Guide” on their learning, serving, playing, praying, and growing journey. Pastors still teach content but a third of everything is taught through interactive small group learning activities. This writer evaluates the programs as enlisting spiritual guides, values clarification, and spiritual gift assessments.

Melheim says he developed the program’s small group structure from Carl George’s Meta Church Model; its philosophy from William Glasser (a secular humanist and an expert in behavior modification); its business sense from MIT’s Peter Senge (author of “The Fifth Discipline”) and his own research. Theological “tips” come from Dr. Pat Keifert of the Leadership Network (www.leadnet.org). The Leadership Network, who endorses Willow Creek as a model for American Churches of the 21st Century, is also advising the LCMS Council of Presidents on how to restructure congregations and the LCMS.

Who are Carl George, William Glasser, and Peter Senge and what kind of influence do they have on the new catechism now being adopted by LCMS congregations?
