Prayer for Pastors
or Prayer Requests of a God-Seeking Pastor

Speaking to the Lord
- That you would help me to Want to read and study your Word, the Bible, and to understand it accurately.
- That you would help me be able to understand and communicate how you have already met our spiritual and emotional needs, and that these answers can be found in the Bible to others.
- That you would help me to have a heart that seeks after you will ALL of my heart, soul and mind
- That before you would agree to answer my prayers and prayer requests, that you would give me the strength to handle the answers that you do give me
- That you would help me to have a much stronger sense of the Fear of the Lord, rather than the Fear of Man.
- That you would wake me up spiritually, and give me the strength to be the kind of Man that you want me to be.
- That you would strengthen my wife spiritually, and help her to learn how to study the Bible for herself so that she can understand How to draw great emotional strength from you Lord, first and foremost. Now having prayed that Lord, help me also to know how to teach her, how to do word-studies, and use other tools to find thing in the Bible that will strenthen and encourage her - which in turn will help me.
- That you would help me read through this list, and not neglect the things to pray that you have put on my heart, and helped me to realize and think about.
- That you would surround me with men of strength and valor, and men who know you very well, and who want to know you better every day.
- That you would help me not to come to the conclusion that I have "spiritually arrived", or that I am satisfied spiritually with where I am.
- That you would give me the wisdom and much greater discernment for these times, so that I would know how to lead the congregation that you have entrusted to me
- That you would wake me up and cause me to see and understand the trends 1) in the church and 2) in those who influence me that can potentially endanger the Congregation of which I am a part.
- That you would help me to understand how to prioritize the issues that matter to you, and to be able to let go of the rest, and delegate where I should.
- That you would prevent my church congregation from being spiritually deceived in any way, or from being a part of the End time deception or the great falling-away
- That you would help me to be the kind of man that relies on Your strength rather than His own, every day.
- That you would bring into my life people who will encourage me and challenge me spiritually, and help me in a positive way to stay focused on you.
- That you would help me to Rejoice in those who know about you, and help me to remember to bring to the congregation a sense of Positive expectancy and dependability about the Good things (spiritually) that you want for people
- That you would help me to remind others that this life consists in service to you, and Not in chasing after possessions, or the things of this world
- That you would help me to remind the congregation that before we can serve God effectively, that we have to attempt to clean up our own lives, attitudinally first, and that we have to be willing to get rid of the obstacles that prevent God from working in our lives
- That you would help me to have the courage to let the congregation know: 1) that a great deception and falling away is coming and 2) that many people will fall prey to it, and that we need to prioritize asking the Lord to ensure that we are not deceived.
- that you would help me to be patient with the questions of others, and to be willing to answer the questions that they have.
- That you would help me to remember to be a good shepherd, who is accountable to his congregation, and not to Lord it (my position) over them, nor to use my position as a means to distance myself from uncomfortable questions that I am not sure how to handle.
About the Church & Church politics
- that you would help me to remember that even before the Church Elders, I am accountable to you First
- that you would help those on the Church Board of Elders, to want to know you and follow you, and be grounded spiritually in your Word, the Bible
- that you would cause those in leadership who are Not truly concerned about spiritual issues to either change or to lose interest in their positions and resign from them.
- that you would help me to work only with pastors who have a true concern for their congregations and a strong love for your Word and the truth, and not with Pastors who have an interest in status-seeking or foster pride or arrogance in their own ministries.
- that you would help me to see people as you see them, and help me to think about ways to encourage them not simply to attend here, but to grow spiritually.
- that you would help me Lord to consider in this day and age whether or not people need a church library where they can find books to help them grow spiritually, and to help them learn about the strength of other Christians who have had great courage in past times, as we need to learn to have courage these days.
- that you would give me the discernment to know how to prepare this congregation spiritually for the times we are in
- that you would help the Elders and me to know how to educate today, the young people who will be in High School and College soon, so that they can stand strong for their faith, and so that they can develop their relationship with God, and be well grounded in Biblical Doctrine and Church History, so that this will help them withstand the spiritual attacks and challenges that they will face in those settings.
- that you would help me to foster within the church a attitude of active learning and of Bible reading, and of Bible studies, discussions and prayer groups, to be sure that the Church understands how to serve you best.
- that you would help me not to feel overwhelmed by the challenges we face, but to remember what a privilege it is to serve you, and that you would help me to depend upon you for the great wisdom I know I need.
- that you would help me to identify those in Church leadership which may have had an occult background (occultism/astrology/freemasonry), and help me know and discern how to address those issues Biblically, in a way that will help the church to grow Spiritually stronger
- that you would help Lord, the people who wrote this list, and that you would bless them and encourage them, increase their discernment, and help their ministry to prosper spiritually as you protect and assist them.
