Who we are and how we can serve as a resource for those on the Internet

Dear Friends, We are in the process of establishing ourselves on the Internet, and we thought we might introduce ourselves to those who have an interest in the Eastern Orthodox church. But before doing that, let's get to the bottom line of encouragement for you: We are here to be a resource for you! We have far more resources than we have time or space to describe - literally !

We have resources, articles and books on almost all religions & cults, the doctrines of the Christian faith, the historical accuracy of the Biblical canon, the historical corruption of the Orthodox Church & Catholic Church, the early Church Councils, the leaders in the Protestant Reformation, the Waldensians & Hugenots, protestant books (of amazing spiritual strength) written from the 1600s through the 1800s, and much more. [We'll also be posting lots of free articles on our Website - as we have the time]. We are bringing back dozens of out-of-print books into Ebook Format (usually PDF). We are doing this to strengthen believers who seek knowledge, truth and a deep and personal relationship with God.

About ExOrthodox for Christ (XOFC)

Most of the time, the growth [in numbers] within the Eastern Orthodox Church is not to be found within its ethnic enclaves. Today, the growth of the Orthodox Church is in fact comprised mostly of so-called "evangelical" Christians. Now, many of these "former" evangelicals claim that the Orthodox Church is the "true church", and that it has the historical record on its side. 

While wanting to believe this may bring a sense of comfort, we know this comfort will be short lived, when - just as in the case of the Roman Catholic Church - we are able to show, demonstrate and document that the claims of truth within the Orthodox Church are lacking in substance as well as evidence. In other words, the claims of the Orthodox Church are False. Yet our goal is to provide a source of strength and support to the ex-orthodox, and to help them to see that real Christianity represents a strong Faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible which is historic and genuine, and can withstand all challenges and meet the spiritual needs of each individual.

Our Mission at XOFC is threefold:

1. Expose the facts, stand up for the Historic Truths of the Christian Faith, and proclaim the Message of the Biblical Truth in Love, to those who are among the Eastern Orthodox Church, primarily by using a) the Bible and b) the historical record which supports the claims of the Historic Christian Faith.

2. Support other ministries which are discernment and truth-based ministries, assist in equipping them and in finding historical documentation - which will, in turn, help to demonstrate the Historic Truths of the Faith

We have many sources, documents and books which demonstrate overwhelmingly that the Bible is the accurate record of history and the Christian Faith that it claims to be. We intend to help make these resources available to other groups and ministries, because this will continue to provide additional resources for genuine Spiritual Growth. In this day and age of confusion, we certainly need resources to help strengthen and encourage believers in their Spiritual Walk. Some Churches are doing this also, attempting to spiritually encourage their audiences/members. But many other churches seem to be only in too much of a hurry to seduce their congregations into accepting as much Heresy as possible.

Many of the churches that have given in to false teaching are large suburban churches. Large churches seem more vulnerable to fads. The reason for this is not hard to explain. Internal spiritual maturity is not dependent on fads. In order for Christians to grow, they must be fed - but in many cases, this is no longer being done. Churches must educate their members in knowing

1) the truths of the Christian Faith and

2) How to study the Bible deeply, personally and frequently and

3) the Necessity of studying the Bible - for themselves - often.

Many of the Orthodox (especially in the USA) do not know that most of the books and rituals that are used by the Orthodox today - were developed only since the late 1600s. They do not go back to antiquity and most of the rituals have nothing to do with what Early Christianity taught or what the Bible teaches. Most of the books used by the Eastern Orthodox Church (such as the Menaion) do not date back to before the 12th century. This really is amazing when we stop and think about it. After all, the Eastern Orthodox church was not even a church of its own until 1056. For 600 years before that, it was merely the eastern half of the official Roman Catholic Hierarchy.

The image of the Orthodox Church is very different from its historical reality. The roots that it claims to have which are ancient do not support the contention of the Orthodox Hierarchy, that it is the "true" church. We are not here only to assist those within the Eastern Orthodox church. We also are here to help those within the mainstream of evangelicals & protestant churches that really want to know more about their own roots, church history, and sound Bible doctrine & teaching. It can be hard to know where to turn to these days. Even within "mainstream" evangelical churches/denominations, there is so much false teaching available these days, that it is becoming hard to find simply a Bible-Based church, where the Pastor has integrity and the Church leaders have courage. 

XOFC is committed to helping to attempt to reverse these trends, and to attempt to provide sources and resources to others who have made the same commitment and who are engaged in the same spiritual struggle. The Good news is that there is much hope, and there are many resources that are available. The Resources we do have As stated earlier, we have far more resources than we have time or space to describe. We have resources on almost all religions, the doctrines of the Christian faith, the historical accuracy of the Biblical canon, the historical corruption of the Eastern Church & the Catholic Church, the leaders in the Protestant Reformation, books written from the 1600s through the 1800s, etc. We are bringing back dozens of out-of-print books into print that the Major Publishers are too politically correct to reprint.

We have a database of more than 500 articles on the trends in society about Christianity. (this should be coming online in the next few weeks) We are starting with a small website, and then change to a  more proficient version when we can financially afford it. We have invested the small amount of resources we've had in finding and printing the books which we hope to encourage the church with.
