RE: Arabic New Testament (Original 1867 Van Dyck Edition) Released in PDF Format - For Free

ExOrthodoxForChrist has released the ARABIC New Testament translated by Cornelius Van Dyck in 1867 as a FREE Instant Download Ebook in PDF format.

 

No Registration is Required and it CAN be printed out (if you want to).

 

 

 

The decision to release this Arabic New Testament was based on several factors:

 

 

1. Although there are Versions of the New Testament available in Arabic, the Challenge is often that those who do NOT have Arabic Fonts cannot easily have access to them. This version solves that problem because all of the pages in this New Testament are Images, and therefore the question of dealing with Arabic Fonts is not an issue.

 

2. One of the contentions often heard - especially in the Arab or Islamic world - is that the Bible has been changed or altered. (Their arguments are flawed and based on a lack of knowledge about Christianity). But to help address this argument, it was best to release the ORIGINAL version of the Van Dyck New Testament, which does not have any "adjustments" or corrections from later revisers.

 

 

3. Van Dyck’s version is based on the Textus Receptus before the revisions of Westcott and Hort. This version in Arabic matches and conforms to 99% of the Ancient Greek New Testament Manuscripts that have been found to date.

 

  

 

4. This Edition is a large file (at the moment) at around 74 MB. But the reproduction of older editions has always been a challenge, and that remains particularly true of Non-Latin based languages, due to the complexity of the languages as well as the complexity of the Fonts.

 

 

 It was very important that someone reading this New Testament in Arabic is able to develop Confidence in what they read, knowing that the Bible they are reading from is an Authentic Bible, and not simply something machine-translated in a few minutes and slapped into Electronic Format with a high error rate. As usual, the "Fit in Window" command in PDF works well.

 

 

5. One of our concerns is a growing proliferation of "sloppy" Electronic Bible translations and editions that are appearing on the Internet. While several people mean well, the preparation and spiritual training for actual translation work is often ABSENT these days, even by those who claim to be doing accurate translations.

 

In the case of the Van Dyck version in Arabic, we have found sites on the Net that claim to have an Electronic version of this N.T. The problem is that in some cases, the Electronic Version was NOT a genuine reproduction of the Printed Version, but rather someone’s "changes and modifications" that they made to the New Testament. The Result was that those who read those versions may be deceived.

 

 

 

6. Anyone with an Adobe Reader of 4.0 (or one more advanced) should be able to read this Ebook without a problem. Registration is Not required for Reading or Printing this New Testament

 

 

7. This is one of the versions that exorthodoxforchrist.com is allowing and recomending that Anyone who wants to REPOST this Arabic New Testament to THEIR OWN Website is Free to Do so. The Faster this gets out, the wider the Transmission and the Stronger the Impact will be.

 

 

 

8. It often remains unsaid, but as many who read here already know, working on translations, (whether on the translation side or the technical software side) requires patience and persistence.
