Have you been kicked out of a Purpose Driven Church ?
Have you been :"asked" to leave ?
Were you part of a Church which
1. Adopted Seeker-Friendly Church Services ? and
2. Allowed your church to have a SECOND Church Service that was more "Traditional", and
3. Then [when most of the Church decided on the "Modern" Seeker-Friendly approach], that your SECOND Church Service is basically allowed to die and Fade out of existence ?
Did you find out that your church had been adopting many strange doctrines, and that about all that you were told...was that your church...was suddenly going to be "seeker-Friendly"?
Has your pastor recently taken on the new step of Kicking out of the Church (some privately/some publically) other leaders in the church who have been faithful members of your church congregation for Ten Years, or Twenty Years, or more ?
Have you found out that members of your church staff have resigned under strange circumstances, but that they refused to discuss this ?
Have you found that - even though you may be still Officially part of the Church leadership, that several meetings, about Finances, about Changing Sunday School Teachers, and about bringing in new People...- that you have been LEFT OUT of those meetings - despite your Title or position ?
Have you had close friends tell you that something is going on at church, but then ALSO tell you that they Could Not Discuss it ? (have you asked them whether this was because they promised someone or signed anything where they promised NOT to tell anyone ???)
Have you found out that your church has adopted a new document called "Covenants" which include provisions that would force you to NOT tell your fellow Christians - in your own church - what is going on...in your church ?
Have you found that when you discuss the Rick Warren/.Purpose Driven Material...at your church...that some leaders (who barely noticed you before) now take a VERY close and personal interest in what you are saying about Rick Warren and his books (Purpose Driven Life/Purpose Driven Church) ?
Have you found that your church has begun the Reducing of Bible studies that concentrate on the Bible Itself, and that the church has INCREASED studies that focus on RIck Warren and his special materials ?
Have you noticed that your church that recently adopted Rick Warren PDC Materials - has begun to AVOID discussing either a) any controversial topic on Sundays or b) any Major Biblical Doctrine ?
Have you noticed that your church [because of the Seeker-Friendly approach] - is agreeing to a new GREAT Church Debt, and a Church Building, that would force your Pastor to concentrate on Church NUMBERS (in order to help pay for the new building)
Do you know that the Material of Rick Warren changes the Definition of Church Growth, from a definition of each of us growing Individually into a STrong and MAture Faith in Christ...into a Numbers Game, where your church has "Grown" if it has new members...whether they know or care about Jesus Christ
Some people are under the impression that the Purpose Driven Churches have found A FEW pastors, who have taken a FEW Extreme positions.
This understanding is because many people do not know that their Pastors are Being TRAINED towards a New Theology and a NEW WAY of conducting their Church Business. This is not happening by accident. It is not the result of a few Pastors. These are events that are taking place at THOUSANDS of Churches All Over the United States (and in the rest of the World as well)
